I had met Russ before our session together, but briefly. He was a groomsman in Ben & Karina’s wedding and are good friends of this lovely couple 🙂 I was suppose to do their 1st year anniversary photos this coming October, but since they were moving, they offered their session to Wanda & Russ for some maternity photos, to which I was happy to do. And while I don’t do it very often, I like to occasionally photograph a gorgeous baby bump. And this one was definitely a beauty 🙂
I met Wanda & Russ out at a friend’s home out in Traveler’s Rest, SC. I’m always sketchy about meeting people in places I’ve never been, but I was sent photos before hand and saw other photos, so I felt pretty confident. There were so many little gems and nice areas that made their maternity shoot together perfect. I felt like even though we were getting eat up by bugs and it being a tad hot, that it went great and officially took some of my favorite maternity photos to date.
Again, I had such a wonderful time shooting with Wanda & Russ and think their precious baby boy is SO adorable. He just turned one month old a few days ago! These are some of my favorite maternity photos to date and am so happy that Ben & Karina graciously gifted this session to them. ❤
I’ve worked with the Coursons a few times now, this was our third session together. You can view their maternity and newborn/lifestyle sessions HERE & HERE! This time we were getting new family photos of Ian, Erica, and adorable Rivers in the beautiful fall weather before it go too cold. Except that day it was pretty windy and the air was a little chilly. Either way, we worked fast so Rivers wouldn’t get too cold and the little guy was a champ! And seriously the most adorable baby ever. I could just squish his little cheeks!
Here are a few favorites from our session together 🙂
I always love working with Ian, Erica, and Rivers and can’t wait to see them again. 🙂
Watching Bryson & Jessica’s journey to their wedding day was just lovely. Upon meeting Jessica & Bryson together (originally met Jess’s mom and herself) we had to struggle with their engagements because we TOTALLY forgot about daylight savings time. You can read more about that and view their engagement photos HERE. And Bryson informed me that he had no idea that engagement sessions were a thing and didn’t know anything about bridals, haha. We let ya know about those real quick though. It’s okay, buddy 😛
I also done Jessica’s bridals and you can view those HERE! And once you’re done looking at those beauties, come on back and take a gander at Bryson & Jessica’s wedding photos 🙂
Bryson & Jessica were married in a small church in Woodruff, SC and on a beautiful (and totally hot) August day. I arrived and the ladies were sitting around in their gorgeous floral robes awaiting for what the day would hold. I got photos of all of the little details and came back to get Jessica getting into her dress. They opted out of a first look because my girl didn’t wanna ruin her makeup. Don’t blame ya at all, my mom gave me the stink eye if I even thought about crying at my wedding (LOL). I think watching her reaction coming down the aisle was worth it. Since we can’t share them all, here are a good collection of my favorites, telling the story of Bryson & Jessica’s wedding day 🙂
Bryson & Jessica decided to end their day a little early for their honeymoon and had their guests blowing bubbles and throwing bird seed as they exited the parking lot. Thank you both for having me for your big day and the journey to it! I’m so blessed to have gotten to know y’all and am still currently documenting your lives together. If y’all don’t know, Jessica is expecting their first child! ANNNND, I’m doing the baby’s photos, so I’m pretty excited about that 😀
Congratulations to you both on your marriage and that precious baby! I can’t wait to document even more of your lives together and wish you the absolute best in your marriage 🙂
I just blogged about the Courson’s a few days ago (like I said, I’m catching up, haha) with their maternity session back in December. You can see that post HERE. Well Rivers made his appearance in January and Erica contacted me shortly after to make sure we got some photos before he got too big. I personally don’t care how big they are, it’s important to get photos of your babies no matter what, but that newborn stage is gone before you know it. They grow up WAY too fast!
Depending on the time of the year, you can get newborn photos outside, but I tend to recommend lifestyle sessions for babies. They are so small and fragile, and keeping them where they are most comfortable makes for an easier session. Especially when they get hungry or need a diaper change. And it’s also a lot easier for the parents as well. They get to do whatever they like and just be comfy in their own home.
Rivers was fully awake just about the entire time I was there, so we had a wide eyed baby for the session, haha. And was so happy! AND all dressed up in Pittsburg Penguins gear…..as you can tell…mom and dad (mostly dad) are fans, haha. Everything went so easy and I can’t wait to see these wonderful people again 🙂
Here are some of my favorites from The Courson’s Lifestyle session!
I love watching how the families I photograph grow over time. It makes me feel like I’m KINDA part of their family by getting to photograph such moments for them. I will still stand by saying that I think Rivers looks just like Erica, but we shall see how time will fight against me, haha.
Thank you Ian & Erica for allowing me to photograph your family, once again, and I hope to do more so in the future 🙂
I knew from the start of our session that I was going to get along with Ian & Erica JUST fine. They are such a down to earth and fun couple, and I was so happy to photograph this maternity session for them. They had a request that they bring along their dog, Elvis, which I of course said, “Yes!”. If it makes you more comfortable, especially if they are part of the family, I always encourage it. Elvis was more than a pet, he was definitely family to Erica. She started telling me that these were probably the last photos that they would get of him because it would most likely be the last Christmas (these were taken in early December) he would have. He was the sweetest dog and was so close to Ian & Erica. He definitely deserved to be a part of these photos 🙂
Onward! We went to Glendale Shoals for their maternity session. It was nice that day and the falls felt perfect. I wanted to get as much as I could without wearing Erica out too much. Keeping the pregnant lady happy is the most important, always, lol.
These are my favorites (which I had to narrow down, lol) from Ian & Erica’s (and Elvis!) maternity session 🙂
I’ve also been thankful enough to photograph The Courson Family once their beautiful boy, Rivers, was born in January. Unfortunately, Elvis passed away this April, and we will definitely miss his sweet face. I’ll be sharing their lifestyle shoot very soon and you’ll get to see sweet baby Rivers 🙂
