The Karl Family – Downtown Spartanburg, SC

The day I met this beautiful family, happened to be a hectic one, haha.  I was running all over the place trying to get my kids to doctor’s appointments and was running a few minutes behind.  Being the most awesome people ever, they completely understood and were amazing about it!  I was referred to them by another client of mine, Lee Ghowanlu.  You MIGHHHHT remember her and Sasha’s elopement HERE and their recent family session from 2016 HERE.

Nicole & Rob have three beautiful children; Jack, Olivia, and Sophie.  These kids were great to photograph on their own, like, wayyyyy easy, lol.  And as a whole family….EVEN better 🙂

We photographed the Karl family in the beautiful downtown Spartanburg.  One of my favorite areas of our city, and it was just perfect for their photos!  Below is just some of my favorites 🙂

As much as I love shooting weddings and engagements, it’s really refreshing working with families and kids here and there.  Especially with a family as fun as this one 🙂  I loved all of their photos and hope to work with them again in the future!

Basalone Family – Ela is one! | Converse College Campus – Spartanburg, SC

Third time working with the Basalone family and what a joy it was this time around!  The first time it was a maternity shoot with Ilker & Franziska for a fun maternity shoot (HERE), and then it was Franziska with her mom and sister (and of course, baby Ela) in downtown Spartanburg (HERE) while they were in town allllll the way from Germany!  And this time, little Ela was turning one year old!

This little beauty was/is so flipping adorable that my heart could barely stand it.  She always gave me these little scrunched up faces (as you can see below) and when she would smile, you could barely see her little teeth, but it was still so cute.

We didn’t shoot for too long because it was fairly hot that day, but I feel like what we got was so fun and great for Ela’s first birthday.  🙂

Here are some of my faves below!

I always love shooting with this beautiful little family and can’t wait for next time!  I always love watching these kids I photograph, grow up.  It’s almost like they’re my own! haha.  Thank you again, Ilker & Franziska for allowing me to capture more memories for you guys! 🙂

Blake & Hannah – Married | Walnut Grove Farm – Roebuck, SC

I met Blake & Hannah earlier this year when Blake’s mom contacted me about their wedding.  She actually found me on Pinterest, which I find AMAZING.  I sat down with Blake, Hannah, and his parents to go over the details of their wedding, discussing an engagement session, and just little things here and there to get me even more excited about shooting their wedding.  When they told me the location and I got eyes on it, Blake’s dad just saw the look in my eyes and said, “I can just see the wheels turning in your head”.  This man knows what’s up, haha.  I worked with them for their engagements in late March/early April and it was so much fun working with them!  They are a young couple, but with so much southern charm that it just made my heart smile.  Blake will do just about anything to make Hannah smile and laugh and it’s just entirely too adorable.  Pretty sure I told them that a million times when photographing them, lol.

If you’d like to see their engagements, you can do so HERE.

Their wedding day was filled with many visits to the radar because it was forecast to storm the entire time, but as luck (and many prayers) would have it, they were graced with just lots of clouds and a little bit of thunder off in the distance.  The day went as planned and the night was beautiful.

I usually say here are a few of my favorites from their wedding, but that’s a lie.  This blog post is photo heavy because I loved way too much from their gallery.  So….here’s a ton from their wedding, lol.  Enjoy!

You have to know that aside from marrying the love of his life, all Blake really wanted to do was eat.  Every time he would go to sit down and finally have a meal, he would be called to do something else.  It was a picture worthy moment when the feller finally got to eat, haha.

I had the best time getting to know Blake, Hannah, and their families and documenting this wonderful time in their lives was such an honor.  I wish you both the absolute best in your lives and marriage!  Thank you for choosing me to be with you on this special day 🙂

The Rowe Family – 2016 | Glendale Shoals – Spartanburg, SC

My annual session with the Rowe’s, amazing as always and this little boy makes my heart smile more every time I see him.  Each time, he’s learned something new, talking, running, and exploring more.  These sessions I do with the Rowe Family are generally mostly shots of Jonah because it’s around his birthday or milestones (the last two have been anyway) and then we try to get some family shots when he isn’t trying to run away, haha.

Since our session in May, they have moved away from me 😦  BUT!  It’s for the best for their little family.  Ashley was offered a job in Cincinnati with the Children’s Hospital and I could not be happier for her!  I will miss photographing them and little Jonah yearly (which we can still make happen!) but I know as much as the next person that bettering your life for your family always comes first.

Here are some of my favorites from their session 🙂

You see that puddle that Jonah is standing over?  Yeah, he took a dog fall into it and the rocks, got all wet, but the little guy was a CHAMP and got right back up and said, “I’m okay”.  Like it never even happened.  The shot beside it was him posing like the boss man he is, haha.

Again, I’m sad that I may not be photographing them again anytime soon, but I can’t wait until we can…no matter when that is 🙂

David & Ashley – Engaged | North Greenville University |Glassy Mountain Chapel

I meet many couples every year, all different in their own little ways.  But all of them have one thing in common;  The undying love and respect they have for one another.  I find this love shines ever so brightly with David & Ashley in more ways than one.

I could tell when I met David & Ashley together (I didn’t meet David until their engagements) that they were a little shy, and that’s absolutely okay!  It’s not everyday you have a photographer pointing a camera in your face for over two hours telling you what to do, haha.  But after I started shooting and David & Ashley were more comfortable, I could see this sweet couple coming through and it helped me showcase how lovely the relationship they have with one another.

I had a wonderful time getting to know David & Ashley during  their engagements and will be shooting Ashley’s bridals next month!  Here are many of my favorites from their session 🙂

JennMarie Photography - South Carolina Portrait & Wedding Photography - Engagements

They requested that we do their engagements at North Greenville University, since it was close to them and where Ashley went to college.  The first place we went into was this beautiful prayer chapel.  Once you walk in you see this beautiful waterfall and surrounding it are these small pews with prayers and testimonies written on paper.  It was such a gorgeous chapel inside and out.

The other location they chose was Falls Park in Greenville, but due to the distance, they decided on Glassy Mountain.  Most who go up there know that you need clearance to get on the mountain and lucky for us, Ashley’s parents LIVE UP THERE.  Yes…lucky souls!  We got access to the Chapel, which is just amazing on it’s own.  I’m so happy that I was given the opportunity to photograph part of their engagements in there because that’s where David proposed to Ashley!  So amazingly sweet 🙂 JennMarie Photography - South Carolina Portrait & Wedding Photography - Engagements

This is the view from the Chapel on Glassy Mountain, like….people actually live like this?  Every single day?  Talk about being jelly, haha.

I’m so excited to further document David & Ashley’s journey of their upcoming marriage.  They are to be married in Spartanburg, SC on November 5th, 2016 🙂
